Frequently asked questions
In the first instance we would ask you questions and get you to fill in an online form with as many details as possible regarding the animal to be surrendered We would then ask for a full refundable deposit of £100 to list the animal unless agreed otherwise this is to stop people getting let down this deposit would be refunded the minute the dog is in our care We would ask for as many photographs up-to-date and videos as possible with as much detail wherever possible too good or bad Once we have this, we will then list the animal on the website on Facebook where we have over 7500 members up-to-date to help find a loving forever home for the animal. This will be done by extensive checks ID verification and home checks prior to a meet and greet with the animal . At this point if needed the animal could then go to a suitable pre-arranged foster carer all of whom will have been vetted on application to ensure suitability for the animal themselves Within the local area, we can collect the animal for free any further a field We may have to ask for a donation towards fuel. We can cover costs for the animal in foster care provided by the Rescue although any health concerns must be disclosed to be covered by the Rescue or will seek compensation from previous owner if not disclosed and agreed privately prior to agreement of homing. Once we receive a potential application from a future owner, we will vet the application and if found suitable we will then arrange a home check either virtually by video call or a physical home check At this point, if everything is okay and we believe it to be fit for purpose and a good match we will then do ID checks and contracts with the new owner once a meet and greet has gone ahead Once contracts are signed and donation is paid we will then leave the animal in the new home with the new owners At this point, the new family is able to change the chip with consent and Rescue back up From this point we are still a point of contact for both previous owners and future owners. We can assist with advice and we do regular check-in to ensure pet safety We asked for follow-ups from new homes for the first month to share with previous owners where required If anything wants to happen and the family feels they need to rehome the animal for any reason they will not go to anyone else they will be returned to the Rescue for rehoming safely. This applies to all animals in our care
